SNAP Outreach Specialist

Location: Knoxville, Tn.

Employment Status: Full-time

Hourly rate: $17.50

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist with application process, client advocacy, and application follow-up to ensure compliance with rules that govern the SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program).
  • Assist with program documentation & detailed monthly reporting.
  • Assist with identifying new outreach opportunities and fulfill the outreach and application goals per grant requirements.
  • Assist with conducting telephone, virtual and in-person outreach events.
  • Assist with directing referrals to internal and external programs and agencies.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year high school or GED (some college-level coursework preferred); or
  • Knowledge of the SNAP program and an understanding of the rules, regulations and exceptions that govern the outreach program.
  • Must have excellent communication, organizational, strong attention to detail, interpersonal and decision-making skills.
  • Valid Tennessee Driver license.
