Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPRS)

Location:                    Maryville, Tn.

Employment Status:  Part-time (20 per week)

Salary:                       $13.67/hourly 


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Active member of the Day Reporting Center Treatment Team and provides peer support services to offenders with serious substance abuse in the Daily Reporting Centers (DRC).
  • Function as a role model to peers; exhibiting competency in personal recovery and use of coping skills; serve as a consumer advocate, providing consumer information and peer support for offenders in outpatient settings.
  • Perform a wide range of tasks to assist adult peers in regaining independence within the community and mastery over their own recovery process.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited four year high school or GED. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of recovery;
  • Lived experience of mental illness, substance use disorder, or co-occurring disorder;
  • Continuing education each year (10 hours); and
  • Completed an intensive, 40 hour online CPRS training.
  • Valid Tennessee Driver license.
  • Must have Tennessee State Certified Peer Recovery Specialist accreditation at the time of hire, and maintain accreditation while employed.
